What is Pixel Jam?
An art jam is a group effort to produce art based on a theme, these are popular in artist communities on the internet (I hear they're done around the lunch table too). Usually the theme is suggested by one of the artists involved. Art jams come in all flavors, and they're a great way to have fun or get outside your artistic bubble and look for ways to further improve yourself. A pixel jam is essentially the same thing, but our Pixel Jam is for Furcadia patch items only! The purpose of this is: To have fun! The benefit of this is: Having some new public items, depending on whether or not the individual artist chooses to make that patch public. I will not be compiling these patches into a group download. If someone else decides to try, then please remember to get the permission of the artist who made the patch. The real purpose of this thread is so folks can show off their work in a place where it's likely to be seen (at least by other artists), it's like sticking a quarter in a candy machine everyday. That quarter is your time. People will spend a quarter of their time to come check this thread just to see what's happenin'. The rules: 1. Please, only patch items. Avatars. Skins. Or CUSTOM portrait patch items. Do not post personal portraits in this thread. My reason for disallowing personal portrait posts is to keep Furcadians from innocently flooding the jam with personal portraits. That's not what Pixel Jam is about! We're here to create and share! Personal portraits are for personal use only. An example of a portrait that is 'okay' to post is a portrait you intend to put out for download to be used in dreams. It should depict a generic representation of an animal or furre. And should not be 'character' art unless the art is canon material that can be used in a canon dream such as Hogwarts, Halloween Town or Redwall. 2. Appropriate material only please! No nudity, or pornography. 3. Jam 'themes' are no longer in effect here in the Pixel Jam thread. A new forum has been established at FAZ where artists can create individual threads supporting jam themes. We encourage you to try it! 4. Any item can be posted here. Old or new, no matter the theme or type. If it's your work. Go ahead, post it! Show us! But please, only post it in this thread once! 5. Free for use items are most encouraged, but items you'd like to show off but keep for yourself are fine too. 6. If you post your work here and someone uses it without your permission or edits it in a way you don't approve of, that's not our responsibility! |

Just finished another one, this one's in three versions. I was tempted to keep or sell it because I like it so much, but at the rate I'm going, I might as well put out another themed public patch.

Wow, this work is phenomenal. This afternoon, even though I lack the skills of a awesome patcher, I'll make some sliding doors and Asian style walls.

Perfect for a dream I'm working on! It'd be awesome if you'd put out another public themed patch, I'd love to see what you'd put in to it ^^ |

Okay, just finished my contribution. It's a start to a new theme: Docks, Boats, and Wetlands. It's a dock and piling package. I don't find the docks too attractive, but the pilings are my pride and joy. They come in tons of different places in the water to fit any pier.
You can get them soon on Roamheart, I'll edit this post when it uploads. |

Good Idea (:
Would some Pomo-Poko Patches be appropriate for the Eastern Mythology theme? (I have some old ones I'll gladly update.) |

XD I'm not sure what Pomo-Poko is.. but if you're not sure, you're welcome to start a new theme!
Edit: Just looked up Pom Poko, I'd start a new theme for it, something like Japanese animated feature films. (There ought to be a big patching interest in that, considering how many popular flicks there are). If it's not based on the film, eastern mythology ought to be a fine place for it. XD |

It's some feral magical racoon thing with large testicles.
I'd personally like to see moar stuff like this: http://apolyton.net/ron/factsheets/images/buildings/ I'll add something to this thread when my scatter-brainedness goes away. Edit: Japanese walls inspired milldy by this, the one with the little squares took some annoying math, and I'm going to take a mental break before I produce the flipside. |

Does anyone know a good place to upload a patch other than Roamheart? It's taking awhile to register.
Alsoooo (Yes, I'm almost done) I may start work on an Asian themed patch. |
