*Furnarchy As some of you have no-doubt realized, Heroin Puppy seems to be down for the count. I've spoken with Cluracan, and it seems as though he is done with developing the Furnarchy proxy for Furcadia. After a brief discussion, it was decided that development of the proxy would fall under the jurisdiction of Entwined Studios. We will now be providing the latest builds of the proxy to keep it up to date with the latest releases of Furcadia. Also, module development for the default modules has also fallen under the purview of Entwined Studios. Because everyone in the technology world loves to outsource, we've done the same. We're bringing in the talent at Mercenary Enclave Productions to develop the actual proxy itself. We are maintaing a close working relationship, and will be overseeing all aspects of the proxy's design and creation. MEP will also be providing primary support, (with help from Entwined Studios) for the Proxy. *Dreamnova As part of the Aquisition of Furnarchy, Entwined Studios has also taken control of the DreamNova service. As of right now, it seems likely that there will be fewer DreamNova updates than there were before. (Possibly from once every 2 hours to once every 4 or 6 hours.) The service will otherwise, at this moment, remain unchanged. As it stands, you can find information on Furnarchy and DreamNova on my website, at this location. There you will find information on the latest Furnarchy releases, as well as module updates. |

Are you planning to keep it open source as Cluracan did? A lot of people are and/or have been skeptical of Furnarchy because of its past with security issues, and keeping it open source will continue to alleviate all accusations of such a thing.
Providing the source also allows people who run unix based systems to compile updated versions of the proxy for full functionality. |

Next major update to Furnarchy will probably also include source code; all decisions on this have not been finalized, or even the best possible way to make it available. But in all likelihood, yes.

I will set up Forums on Saturday. Any requests for specific ideas/thoughts of what you'd like used and/or categories?
(Info from Developers, specifically, would be appreciated.) |

Hey Dama, is there going to be any way for those of us who do not enjoy DreamNova to keep it -out-? Banishing does not work (it still makes the attempt, triggering all pertainant DS, which can break counters and the like), and last time I had to ask the owner to specifically exempt my maps... now it's resumed visiting due to the hand-over.

Contact Lothus in game to discuss what's going on. Your name's on the 'blocked' list.
All help requests need to be done through the proper channels, in the future. (That way we can keep track of bugs and address people in the correct order.) If anyone needs help, they should submit a Support Ticket at the Help Desk |

Did the developers of other modules that "became" official modules give permission on the hand over?
Also, I am assuming Cluracan's clever humor will not be present, going forward? |

As of the state of the 2.6-r5 release all modules, just as Furnarchy itself, were published under the MIT license (except maybe Curses, I couldn't find any hints of a license). AFAIK the MIT license kinda grants you the right to do whatever you want, on the legal side a permission isn't needed.
By the way, what's with the source code of the new releases? Until now the subforum for the code is totally empty. |

Did the developers of other modules that "became" official modules give permission on the hand over? Also, I am assuming Cluracan's clever humor will not be present, going forward? The only modules that are in the release right now that are 'official' modules are the ones being developed by Mercenary Enclave Productions. The only two that were added are Tricorder, and Director, both made by Lothus Marque, who runs MEP. Eggy, Curses, Winampeeny, and IdleHands were all created by Cluracan and handed over to me with the Furnarchy project. We haven't actually released a full update to Furnarchy yet; as soon as we do, all module source code, and proxy source code will be released. |

For those who downloaded the version uploaded on the 22nd, please re-download Curses. We had a slight bug in the system and it has been fixed. (and re-uploaded.)
You can get Curses here, and you don't even need to use Furnarchy to use this piece of software. Curses is an all-in-one Character Editor and Launcher. If you don't want Furnarchy, but don't like the Character Pick option, Curses might be the alternative you've been looking for. |

Bravo! Hey Damadar, do you guys ever plan to update Eggy to see if there isn't any way to allow for offline messaging like Pounce? I still prefer to use Eggy over Pounce. Go figure xD

Go figure xD Furnarchy has a type of offline messaging already. Will it someday work like Pounce's? Maybe. Mention it on our Forums as a Suggestion for Eggy, please? |
