QUOTE If the ownership of Furcadia switched to someone else I probably wouldn't be able to trust them to do a good job. Furcadia is far from perfect but in the hands of someone else I can only seeing it getting much worse. You may not understand the amount of responsibility and work it would take to just keep things running smoothly. It wouldn't be just sitting back and being the owner, it would be a fulltime job. Of course it would be a full time job. Actually, a full time++ Job. You would have to make it your LIFE. I do know, probably more than you, the exact ammount of work that would be required to be a "Felorin" or an "Emerald Flame" or a "Cironir" given I've been spending the past six years learning exactly what you have to do in order to run a successful business. I dunno why you wouldn't trust them. I'd have to have said that it would have been more a, "Wait and see what they do," rather than a, "Screw them, they're untrustworthy because they're not the people who used to do it." |

I'd have to have said that it would have been more a, "Wait and see what they do," rather than a, "Screw them, they're untrustworthy because they're not the people who used to do it." That wasn't my Meaning of course, but I can see your point. What I meant was that DEP has been running furc for over 9 Years, with decades of video game experience besides. I undersTand that experience isn't everything, bUt in this case it Might be essential to running furc sMoothlY. Personalities are also important for a game like Furcadia. The game reFlects thE personality of the crEators and owners. If furc's new owner wanted to keep most of its pLayerbaSe, it would have to keep things reLatively the same, at least in spIrit. It would be very difficult to do that if the new owner wasn't a lot liKe current DEP staff, expErience-wise and personality-wise. Though mayBe the new owner woUldn't caRe about keepiNg the same playerbase, in which case, every sIngle one of my carefully coNstructed arGuments falls apart. But this is all off-topic, so I'll shut up now. |

He could buy 1 billion dollars worth of digos then. But he wouldn't get to own the game. =p

Just to clear up any possible misconception... Furcadia would never change ownership just because of money running short. If sales dropped too much, we'd all go get jobs working elsewhere, and use what sales money did come in to pay for the server leasing and bandwidth. It'd be very unlikely sales would drop so low they wouldn't even pay for that!
Talzhemir and I worked at various other game companies for the first 5 years Furcadia was running. Would rather not have to again, but we would if it came to it. |

I think that went without saying, Felorin. =p Anyone that would want to buy Furcadia would be better served creating their own game, the only reason to purchase Furcadia would have been an already established player-base and income source, as opposed to trying to start from scratch. =p

Eep! -Gets tons of coffee- I haven't really looked at it yet, and I deleted my logs of the adverts yesterday... oh well, wrote it down anyway. -Gets to work-
Update: Well, I've been working on it for 4 hours straight, now it's like 8:05pm and, I give. Ya stumped me, which is very easy actually. |
