> Allegria's "New" Islands, Where They Came From

Two new islands in Allegria. Great news! I'm sure it'll reduce the clutter quite a bit. However, some questions remain...

Where did two fairly large islands appear from all of a sudden? I read Emerald Flame's explanation, and I couldn't help but entertain some skepticism when I read the phrase, "hidden in a magic mist." Many years back, I fell into the water canals of Theriopolis and floated all the way to Allegria Island. I was unconscious, floating on my back for most of the trip, but I could swear those islands weren't there. And this one time, a gigantic scarhawk lifted me straight above the Allegria Island table, about 100 feet up. I didn't see the islands at that time either, NOR did I see any "mist."

Or so I remember. Folks, I think there is only one true explanation for this "discovery." I am beginning to think those two other islands were always there, but that some powerful trickster has erased every single memory anyone has ever had of them, prior to this recent announcement.

I think other memory alterations have occurred as well. I remember I was walking along in Meovanni Village once, then I stepped through a door. Suddenly I was surrounded by cobblestone floor, and my steps made clicking noises. There was a sign that said "Harshlaw." However, it seems there is no such place in Furcadia... I tried the door in Meovanni, and it was a dead end. Obviously the memory of Harshlaw is a phony implant.

If you have any of your own stories of memory manglement, perhaps you could help shed light on this situation. Thank you.

I blame everything that comes off as being remotely eerie or coincidental on El Borracho. It's all his fault.

I think I remember some steps in the clouds it was like an extremely small map. It [had something to do with /connected to] new haven or the vinca.

For a few years, Allegria Island has been somewhat filled with extra, uneeded, unecessary, previously used Dreams and Furres. Too many Furres and Dreams usually means a lot of work for the sanitary department. Those two "islands" were originally dumping grounds for waste. The so-called "mist" was actually "smog". The Sanitation Department could probably answer this question best. Is my hypothesis insane?

Suspended? Are you sure? That doesn't seem to be happening as far as I've been told...

I think the moderators are sensible people for the most part. It's just that secret code they're trying to protect, right?

Don't worry, we thought your post was funny. :) Romeo is just upset because they are suspended from the forums on another alt for being a royal pain in the rear and a general troll. It takes a lot to get suspended from these forums. Only a few have been all year. Two of which are causing trouble and asking for a game suspension at this point.

It's also possible that an over-abundance of 'dream energy' could generate such a thick coating of the 'mist/smog' that it could prevent any visual off the coast of Allegria. When the dreams in AI started to decrease for a short time (because a lot of B-a-Hs unloaded for maintenance and a good ol' fashioned power wash) the smog lifted, and the islands became visible long enough to be migrated to, and allow the dream energy's visibility to expand! It's possible that there are chains of islands that are still outside of the visibility range, and more could always come with the active undersea volcanos. Now the south-western beach fairers have a decent coastline to populate! =P

You mean they not only dumped obsolete dreams over there, but also obsolete FURRES? That's very frightening to hear...

Oh! I get it. So the islands "just appeared" because the trash piles in the ocean finally broke the surface. Yes, I believe your theory deserves further consideration as well.

I think that an experiment can be devised...

Hypothesis: The new islands are waste dumps. They only became visible because of either
a) a recent shift in the earth crust found underwater possibly caused by a lot of hot gases from these Obsolete Furres and Dreams
b) an increase in the number of waste that is proportional to the increase in Furre population
c) a whistle-blower at DEP, who did not get his 10-min coffee break, decided to expose the "dirt"

Experiment: Check the Dreams on these islands. If the average Dreams "stink" with a p-statistic of less than 0.05 (using an alpha of 0.05) derived from an ANOVA double blinded test, then the hypothesis may be correct. If a correlation cannot be found, the outlier Dreams (i.e. Dreams that are off the edges) should be excluded from the calculations until the statistician manage to "cook" the numbers.

Actually Ferel Island and Home Island is the fault of one single furre. Not magic or primes.

yes the islands are the work of Tarquin! Yes. Tarquin dumped all of the Zeros, Messersmits, and whatever the Italians flew into two areas over the past year he was on Furcadia. He just didn't like them littering up our proper oceans.

when interveiwd he only had racest comments about Japan, and shody workmanship on the planes which broke apart easilly. Soon as years passed the wreckage decayed and stuff grew on them. Ya know the usual sea life.

And the climate helped with this proccess. all of the hot air released by the advertisment bots, alt traiders, and basic spammers and annoying furres soon caused a hurricane like activity on the island. Cuasing dirt to fly out on these two areas of wreckage. So much dirt that life began to grow. (Thanks for the prevelence of said annoying furres)

Soon, Emerald Flame mistakend a bunch of dirt covered plane wreckage for islands.

End of story.

Myself, I was under the impression that they were purposely built by the management. We know that it is possible to create viable artificial islands technologically (Tenochtitlan, Ellis Island, Kansai International Airport are only three out of many examples). Why not magically or through a combination of technology and magic?

To build up the islands, hire some mages, particularly those skilled in earth elementalism, though other elementalists would be useful in secondary roles, to either move or build up the rock and soil and make sure the end result would be stable, especially when it comes to erosion and tectonics. Once the land is stable, other mages (or even just plain old skilled gardeners) could then set to work establishing the plant life.

As for why no one noticed them before? The mist could be part of an unnoticability spell. The spell would make a viewer's attention look over there (at the mist) instead of over here (the construction work), and the viewer wouldn't be any wiser. It would be like a fence around a construction site.
