I need an opinion (or fifty), Bears, should I make 'em? Options

For years people have been crying "Where's the Bears?!?!" and nobody upstairs has listened. Noticing that the creators tend to steal ideas from allready created patches and alter them  (The bunnies from the old Mouse to Bunny patch, Triwings from Kestrel's Archangel wings...) and that nobody had ever created a bears patch, I am thinking of creating a bear patch for them to snitch.

I know this forum is for sugestions for Furcadia in general, though I felt it was a good place to ask for personal sugestions that might help add to furcadia. Does anyone else think that making a Bear patch would help bears be added, or would it just let people finally have bears in dreams?  Also, what species should I cover over? Musties or Dogs? Both are common bear guises.

If you make it, no-one will use it.

I have made Bear Walkabouts (and Non-Player-Characters) free for public use.  No-one, other than myself, uses them.

I'm just warning you that you may be disappointed -- unless, your bears are really, really, really, truly, great looking!

The common responses that I've got:
- Too fat ( Personally, I think that normal bears are fat! )
- Not going to use it because it's not "official"

If you decide to do them, /I/ suggest covering the felines.  Personally.  Because no one ever does.

Or just do them as an FS2 and then people can decide what species to have them cover in their own dream fairly easily.

2. I'd use the bear patch (never found it, Carrie, but I never looked hard for it) if I knew where it was. I could make it work.

Holy crap, that probably ranks up in the top twenty most WRONG things I've ever read on these forums.  Sheesh.  You people.

That said, create the bears.  Why not?

And yes, Carrie's made a bear.  Few things are NOT done at this point by at least SOMEONE.  Hell, we probably already have giant herm taurs with laserbeam heads.

Ahh, I hadn't seen any Bear patches despite looking, myself.    You may want to make it easier to find, Carrie.  Your shading is a little too smooth, I think that's probally why the "too fat" thing came out.

And in responce to Cassiel & Yolanda, back before Triwings were releaced I was told by Kestrel that they were going to use her wings for the "new wings". I lost the screenshot of it when my computer died, though, or I'd send the link to proove it. They used the same principal , basic structure and color pattern, though altered the feathers to look more realistic.
  Also, ever find the origional mouse to bunny patch? I recall an eerie similarity to the "official" one, and that the mouse to bunny patch appeared first, then the rabbits. I'll admidt that the rabits may be a bit of an assumption, but I know the wings were based off Kestrel's. Oh, and if you dissagree with the people asking for bears, you've probally never seen the Furcadia Bear Mode Petition or the long list of species requests. And as to the people who work on the game suposedly not listening? Well, it's been at least 4 or 5 years of the same question and we got rabbits and suposedly squirrels next, don't you think there'd be a reply if someone was going to do Bears as an official anytime soon?

It comes up in almost every thread that suggests a bear avatar. If you had bothered to read the boards a little before posting you probably would have found it.

I believe they paid Kestrel to make the tri-wings or paid her for using them. It was WITH their consent. DEP did not 'steal' the wings. Likewise, she also made the Dragon avatars and the Phoenix avatars.

I believe Talzhemir made the bunny avatars and the other avatars.

Another fur is working on the squirrel avatar.

I'm afraid I don't remember any bunny patch. I highly doubt that Talzhemir copied the patch from others. Making bunnies that hop isn't a unique idea after all as REAL bunnies hop.

But you didn't do enough research to know that she agreed for them to be used and was (I recall) compensated for them. I believe she made them FOR DEP (she probably shouldn't have been showing them off to begin with).

I've been on this forum a lot longer than you have. I've replied to that LONG LIST of species requests with the same answers that DEP has officially given in Talzhemir's FAQ.

The next avatars are already planned and whining about it means nothing.

As I have stated in other threads, users demanding bears will not get DEP to change its planned actions, it'll only make bear users look like whiners.

I'm sick of seeing people that want bears calling the whaambulance and beating dead horses.

The squirrel avatars are already in the works, no matter how much you whine, cry, b****, call the whaambulance, protest, etc you will NOT change what DEP is doing.

For the past six years there has been a FAQ that Talzhemir made posted online. It answers not only the "I suggest __ be done?" issue.

The answer for "when" is: "We don't know."

Some vet you turned out to be, you can't even read a simple FAQ.

This isn't a suggestion at all though. This thread should have been placed in patches, as you wanted to know if you should make a bear patch.

I certainly do hear alot of whining about "DEP is doing THEIR species, but not MY species!  They're obviously retarded!"  Get over it.  You bears are probably next in line after the current stuff is worked on, but you have to learn some freaking patience.  As far as I know, most of the species were picked due to popularity on furry MUCKs and bears weren't quite up there.  Don't whine because they're making squirrels/skunks instead of your beloved bear.  At least skunks have a whole convention based on them.  That says alot more than your petition.
But once again, please be patient.  Stop pushing the issue over and over and over.  You'll probably get what you want eventually, but screaming "Now now now" is just plain aggrivating.
