What do you guys or girls want to be the next avatar?  Ive heard a lot of people suggest bears?   I wouldnt mind a more specialized cat or canines. I mean a wolf doesnt look much like an short and stubby pooch. :)

I dunno about bears, but bugges and lizards would indeed be cool! although i think maybe fish? lol!!! I think the next one should be amphibians like frogs and stuff! Because you see alot of frogs in these classic fantasy tales like wind and the willow and such...

I think we should wait with the frogs and lizards and junk and add a button or something that allows your char to become feral. There are lots of 2 legged ferals out there and I think this would be a great addition. Or maybe you could add a button that lets ya have a kid furre/feral? Or both and all? Im sure ya'll can do this since ya made the game. This should be easy compared to that. I think lots agree with me

Or a Beaver!... well... Only if they look like Dag and Chaz from Angry Beavers!

I'd Adore to see an Eagle - Eagles or Falcons - they're Gorgeous birds.

Otters are mustelines. Bzzzt, you lose.

I think lizards would be cool, but it'll probably be something out of the blue like bears. I don't even see any bears, just like I never saw any lapines.

I'd like to see deer or elk or moose, too.  I'm afraid, horses, well, they're missing horns for those purposes.

I thought something cool they might be able to sell is a unicorn, too. :p

I think the 'wants' for new avatars (haha, I accidentally typed avatards - I'm going to call the lapines that now) vary by location.  I know I've only met one furre who was a rabbit before the lapines came around, but I'm sure that there was probably some dream somewhere with lots of furres calling themselves rabbits and wishing for a special avatar ("special" is certainly the word for it now!).

By the same token, I've only met one furre who calls herself a bear, and since pandas aren't really bears, well then.  But, just as rodents resemble rabbits enough for a furre to have used them for that purpose, mustelines resemble bears enough for that purpose.  I'd like to see something that looks unique, but is an actual animal, as opposed to made-up stuff like unicorns (which are played quite nicely by equines) and bugges and gryphons.  What I'd love to see is another hoofed animal; perhaps a gazelle or impala, or a llama. Of course, I'm sure there aren't enough of any of those animals around Furc to merit all the work it takes to make a new avatar.

Elks and rumiants aren't incredibly tough to work out. It just takes time to build 'em.

That would mean making eight new avatars, as opposed to only one.  And then, what would happen to the felines? Which feral species would be used? Furres who play feral lions would be upset if the feral feline was a tiger, and all feral "big cats" would be upset if the feral feline was a housecat.

Nice idea, though.

Despite the fact that many people i'm sure play feral characters...to create feral avatars would be contrary to everything furcadia is.  I think it would be bloody ridiculous in an anthromorphic world.  I would much prefer they maintain -some- sort of continuity

How do you make a bear out of a musty? that's is increadably imaginative ;p

The fact is, the great majority play with what they're given.  Not as many as you'd think are willing to play an elephant while looking like a cat.  that's why you only see the rare person playing a bear, or a frog.  I would bet you my left arm though, a great many more would play the character if the avatar resembled what they wanted to play.

I agree with idea of Eagles and such. In Goldwyn at least, there are usually a few Ravens or similar fluttering around, and these people can't actaly BE birds without buying a pheonix- not something that everyone can afford.

Please, have pity on these poor folk. Quoth ~v~ is actually a black Mustie, and I'm getting confuzzled.... @.@

I dunno.  I just think the musties look a lot like small bears in their avatar.

Closer than a lot of animals, anyway.  That's the reason I think a unique animal would be best for the next avatar. It would open more than one species to furres, if the animal looks more like something else than the original, uh, six.

Having a bovine animal, for example, would open the door for other hoofed animals that are more stocky than a horse, like buffalo and wildebeests (not to mention that I know more furres who play bovines than I knew lapines before the lapines came out).  Anyway... I'm getting carried away with myself. ;)  I'm going to back out of the conversation now.

I think Horses are still very close to other Hoofed creatives.. i would be quite happy to accept a Horse was a camel, or an ox.. whatever..
the way i see it.. a large range of species can be covered inside the creatures weve got along with a tiny bit of imagination.
Except for really nit picking stuff like Insects maybe, but theyre not very furry so nuts to them ;) except for hairy spiders and stuff.. but i hate spiders so nuts to them too :p
Monkeys dont exist in furcadia otherwise theyd have evolved into Hyoomans (if you believe in evolution)
The one creature i can think of appart from Bear which covers a small area which doesnt get covered by the other species+tinybitofimagination equation is Hedgehogs..

Well, if the art is to stay with the idea of the game, being anthromorphic furries, then frogs would probably be out, but because Bugges and Wyrmmes are in the storyline they could be introduced as avatars although I think the Dragons represent them in part already.
