Rub's 1st Suggestion: Animated portraits!

Personally, I think that animated portraits wouldnt really be a problem at all, and would be a great add on. It shouldn't cost more than a regular portrait space, but should have limits to frames, such as up 4. I dont think It would take up much more space, as It's only as if you clicked on 4 diffrent furres with there own portraits. And If It woud lag them, for some reason, they could simply click on another furre.

I might not know much about computer software and how much extra space this would take up or whatever, but If it doesnt take up much It would be a great idea.

Rub's 2nd Suggestion: Portrait Markings

This isnt a real big suggestion, but I think it would help since there are limited colors, and theres bound to be a few people with similiar colors as yours. Now you can also pick a marking that shows up on your portrait! It should be simple: Use the same portrait, such as a feline portrait, but remove the stripes and replace it with spots! Not too complicated but also being able to tell from the look-a-likes.

A list I decided to add for diffrent marking types:
Stripes (Tiger stripes), Spots (Small, freckle like), Patches (Larger spots), Blend (A fade from one color to other), & Rossettes (Leopard like spots).

As soon as I get my site up and running I plan to design these diffrent portraits to give you a better look at it  

Rub's 3rd Suggestion: Give/Recieve Commands

Not a real big thing, But It would be an easier way to give another furre a pillow that you may be holding without fear of another furre taking it when you leave it open. Also, If the two furres cannot find eachother, or are farther away, they can easily transfer Items back and forth without difficulty. Of couse, You would both have to be in the same dream or map.  

Rub's 4th Suggestion: Colored text!

Ahh.. Ever got tired of he boring black text, or green? How about colored text? A few basic colors to choose from. Good to use for IC, then OOC chat, or just to be creative. A click or a command could trigger the diffrent colors so you can type, and not only be reconized by that simple badge.

Rub's 5th Suggestion: Name Clear!

I've thought this for a while, since many of the furre names I've tried have been taken, and maybe that person was just using it for an alt at one time. I thought of a way that we could clear all the unused names without deleting innocent furres not knowing! Here is my plan on how it could be done: I think this should take atleast up to 2-3 years, but atleast It would be done and gotten threw with. First off, every registered name ever created should be run by an alt check, in order to not speed up everything abit. The main furre should be checked for an e-mail and an e-mail should be sent to the furre in question. Something as the sort of "Please confirm that your furcadian furre is active by replying to this mail. Please do *not* reply for any other purposes, questions may be asked threw the channel when logged into Furcadia. Along with the confirmation reply, please list *all* active alts that you are currently using, and do not want deleted. WARNING: If you leave out an alt, take caution to simply reply again with the left out alts name, or it will be deleted with he Name Clear." Anyway, something along those lines. To make it neater and easier, there should be a small group of furres according to the beggining letter of the furre's name. Those furres can share all replys, or split up and take names according to the next letter, etc. Thats why I say this may take up to 2-3 years. But If it could be done, It would be a great thing. Heres how I think it should be set-up:

First off, in advance, a warning should be uncluded on the http://www.furcadia.com website, and as a [#] note in all main maps for the new Clear Name idea. Maybe a short note as to check mailboxes for confirmation of active furres. As some furred may be on vacation, this should maybe be even months in advance. (After all, better be the first to confirm an active furre then that furre's name being deleted and up for grabs) Also, with the note, there should also be an e-mail address that you can send a list of alts if you may have changed your mail address, or have forgot which one you entered for your furre. (Of course passwords will be needed with no exceptions. )

This is just a starting Idea, and as I doubt it will grow, but maybe soon there will be a less complicated, more quicker way to do this.

Rub's 6th Suggestion: Non-fur Furres!

Am I the only that thinks Bunnys were really pointless? Arnt they really part of the rodents as well? How about down with furres and up with scales! Reptile/Insect furres now roaming furcadia! From Alligators to crickets, the furless will grow over furc! Dragons will not seem as special now huh? Of course not! Dragons still have the wings, fire breathe, and of course larger form! No need to worry about that!  

Rub's 7th Suggestion: Non-Fur Furres Part 2!

Reptiles not enough? Hairy creatures still overpowering? Now FEATHERED ones are roaming! Enough with the mammels, whered all the birds go? They have a right to be here too! Although these are a smaller furre, instead of walking the fly lightly above the ground! Now phoe's wont be so alone.

Rub's 8th Suggestion: Furc pets!

A new Idea I just came up with and think is totally AWESOME! A little lonely? Living by yourself but not ready for a mate? New Furc pets! Adopt a small kitten or puppy that will follow you wherever you go! He can cuddle with you when you lay down, or curl up in your lap when sitting. Pick out it's own name and let it have it's own desc! Sorry, but you cant control exatly what it does, But wherever you go hes right behind you.

#1: A good idea in theory, a bad idea in practice. Furres like me who already get horrid amounts of lag, would suddenly find themselves immobilized for even longer upon discovering that the furre they had just clicked had an animated portrait. And no, it isn't as simple as discontinuing the download of the animated portrait, on the account of that causing lag as well for those of us with bad connections.

#2: Yes, i've always wondered what the marking type thing that you choose in your desc is FOR, any staffurre willing to come forward and explain that, already?

#3: Hmm.. Yeah, it could be helpful, but I think that the time to code it would be better spent on other things, as this isn't -that- important.

#4: Yeah, sure, but haven't we already got an OOC button? I notice no one uses it... I think that colored text could be a good buy-add-on feature though, just one more way to stand out from the crowd...

#5: No. I mean.. just no. I would hate to have one of my prescious alts accidentally deleted because of some error in my email.

#6: No, this -would- lessen the impact of dragons, no matter what you may say.

#7: And -this- would lessen the impact of phoenixes, scales and feathers are unique for a reason ye know.

#8: Ehh.. Would up lag, and it doesn't appeal to me really, but who knows what the public craves.

Without being too mean, that idea sucks. Sorry. :( Animation = bad. When thinking of ideas, always think of the worst thing that can be done with it. I think animated portraits, I think of someone with a poorly ripped anime image, manipuating it in MSPaint to make it wink.

Rub's 2nd Suggestion: Portrait Markings
Not a bad idea. Seeing as how, when you make a character, you have the (useless) option of choosing markings, I'd say this is something they have planned for a later time. That or they forgot about it. =p

Eh. Items really aren't a major thing in Furc, but it would be somewhat useful. Better investment than extra inventory slots.

Yes. e_e  I think. They should do character deletions more often at least, though. For anyone who's been inactive for for than a year.

Rub's 6th and 7th suggestions:
Considering bugges are in the roleplay thing, it would make more sense to make bugges and lizards than bunnies. I don't even know why bunnies were added--there are much more roleplay-wise important species.

I won't comment on every suggestion, but on the name deletion subject, a far easier, although possibly less effective way of accomplishing that would be to make it possible for a player to delete their alt names if they no longer need or use them.

Well, at least it wouldn't require staff or Beekin to monitor a huge project for two or three years, but then, it might require two or three years of programming. I'm no programmer, so I wouldn't know about the feasibility of that. :csmile:

I'd like to agree with Kavaria on the deletion thing.

I'd love to have utilities to delete alts I didn't need anymore that served a purpose for a single RP and are now 'dead'.

Some people don't even have access to the email addresses they originally specified in Furc.

.. Oof.  I agree whole-heartedly with Burma on that one.  Animations tend to be incredibly obnoxious, I certainly don't want something flickering up in the top corner of my Furc!

That could definitely come in use.. but it could also be abused.  I think the way we use Furc at the moment (ie, if you REALLY want an item, hide it :P) is fine, because it does give other people a chance to get the items if they want them.  Still, it could be fun :D

.. I have an image of mIRC when you say that.  Maybe I'm just picky, but I'd hate to see coloured text.  The text we have now matches Furc really nicely, and coloured text would be something twinks would latch onto.. it's happened in mIRC!  I think it'd drive me insane.. but that's just me :P

Like Kavaria and Leticia said, a deletion command would be nice.  We can 'unload' our dreams, now.. how about unloading characters, too?  Otherwise, we might find ourselves all wandering around with alts like, Furry_Guy_169 >.<

That'd be so cute!  They'd have to be tiny, though, so they didn't take up extra tiles.. it'd be a drag to have Furc filled up, not just with furres, but with their pets as well!  It could be done really nicely.. spiff!
