I have a list of things that I think might increase furcadias replay quality and how many ppl play it.
1: Maybe you could give it a more 3 Dimensional look 2: Go into a Third Person Camera angle, like world of war craft (Might not be a good idea, but just a thought) 3: Make a action task bar, like a RPG game, have an option to where you can challeng someone, if they agree go into a battle phase showing the furre and a list of commands. 4: Allow longer periods of time for empty dreams. 5: More local specie options. 6: More emotions, some of them could be animated. 7: Allow an animate action for DS script, that would be really cool 8: Put a Avatar space up for a digo, this way someone could show off some flashy characters. Thats all for now. Signed, Pro |

1) Editing the default patches might be nice. However lots of people use default objects together to create cool effects which would be ruined with new objects (but change is good so w/e). The real reason this probably won't happen too soon is because it's a lot of work.
2) It already is a 3rd person camera angle. Third person is when your looking at yourself. First person is when your seeing things from your eyes. 3) Furcadia isn't really supposed to be a "battle" game. However giving you the ability to do that in a dream (with buttons and stuff) would be quite cool. However there is currently a project under way by a 3rd party called Furcadia Extended Roleplay, check it out in the 3rd party section. 4) I think the way it works is that dreams are uploaded into "slots". If a dream's slot is needed for another dream and there's no one in the first dream, the second one will take it's slot. But not sure if it's timed as well. 5) Please clarify. You could have any kind of local species. Do you mean add things like phoenix flame or more local species? 6) I would really only like to see new ones if they are animated. That'd be kind of cool 7) What do you mean by "animate action"? Again, please clarify 8) This would be cool. However for people with dial up it'd be weird. I mean you'd have to load their character (so do others but dial up is slow. So what do they see when they're loading? Also going into AI would lag like crazy because you have to download so much. |

When I say Animate Action its like cycling items but it would be like using a program to animate the items or characters, if we could animate the furcadian avatars it would extend alot of the ways we use RP, like saying a certain word would execute an animation from the player, and then send an item (Attack) forward, or just put one in front of the furre then disapear. This could also make the furre react to the attacks, like if they are hit they would fall down or play a hit sound.
Also what I meant by more local species is I meant more slots for them because I would like to make more local species for my dream. |

Alright well "animate action" would work fine if you only had the default avatars. But if you add it in then every patch has to be added to. Too much work if you ask me. However if you patch it right you can do this already.
This (more local species) will come in the next update (I'm pretty sure but don't quote me). This post has been edited by yamato mitsarugi: Feb 26 2006, 06:21 PM |

1,2,3: Furcadia isn't meant to be a 3D combat MMORPG like World of Warcraft... there will be some 3D modeling in the beta but I assume that's just for the avatars. Like Yamato said, though, allowing people to make dreams that have those features would be good. With a little creativity, these are possible already to some extent.
4: Yamato is correct. Also they just increased the number of dream slots from 600 to 700 so empty dreams should stay up longer. If you want to keep your dream up for sure though, you have to keep someone in it (until semi-permanence comes along, but don't hold your breath for it). 5: more localspecies are coming but unfortunately it seems that only group package and/or silver sponsors will get them. I agree with you that more should be available for everybody though... but that's unlikely to happen anytime soon. 6: I dunno if I'd like more emoticons. I don't use the existing ones much, and for me animted emoticons might get annoying. 7: I believe client-side animations are coming, which will assumedly be triggerable by DS. I don't know if they'd be able to be used in player patches (for walkabouts/avatars) but using animation for special actions might be cool. It seems a little too much like World of Warcraft but it would be a useful feature nonetheless. 8: custom walkabouts/avatars have been discussed before, and it was pretty much rejected mostly because of the downloading issue Yamato talked about. It might not be so bad though if the furre appeared as their default species (feline, dragon, etc) while you download their walkabout/avatar. |

With some of those ideas though, then we wouldn't be original. If you want to "challange" someone, you ask them through role play or something. Furcadia is a role play game, but it's different from the others because it doesn't have the 3D look or different angles or any of that other junk all the other ones do.
But I guess while I am in the suggestion board, I would like there to be a ban feature in your dream so that you can ban a whole IP address. Because everyone can make alts, and come back. When you ban an IP address, their whole computer is blocked from your dream. This post has been edited by Iced: Feb 27 2006, 04:46 PM |

When you ban an IP address, their whole computer is blocked from your dream. those with a dynamic IP would be able to get by that pretty easily by simply resetting their modem/router. They'd have to use the machine code instead, which I believe is what they use now when they ban people from furc. I think an even better way though would be to ban a person's email account, because the other ways can be circumvented simply by using a different computer and IP address. If necessary, it could ban every account that is known to be attributed to the same person. I agree, a ban feature for more than just individual alts is probably a good idea. |
