Gender Avatars - We all know this one

Species Break Down - Break the species down into the sub species. Example: Canines to Foxes, Wolves, and Dogs. Felines to Spotted, Striped, and Mix. etc.

Full Screen >>Option<< - Option of full screen, not required!

Spell Checker - Spell checker for your posts. Like the one on Microsoft Word or E-mail, even this forum!

Built In Friends List - I know DogProxy has this, but I find DogProxy to be wrong a lot, people have been on and it tells me they're not. It would save hassle if an accurate one was built in.

Lower Costs(Rephrased) - Rephrasing this now. For something you could write in your desc, and change your colors to match, you could pay 100$+ for something for life. Once you're 99 years old, you'll barely be able to type anyway and thats if you play fucadia your entire life. If the WoW reference wasn't good enough, take Runescape to be a member, 5 bucks a month for every nook and cranny. I think Silver sponsor costs about the same, but their is very few bonuses, except ones that let you pay full price for an avatar that non-silvers will get later. *Hopes no-one gets mad* And I don't see all the money put in going much at all into furc...

Larger Desc Limit - I always hit a limit on my desc length, make a site, when I put it on my desc, I have to delete more desc to fit it on. Soon the more sites I need for reference pics etc. The more desc I will have to delete, soon I have nothing on there and some people use dial-up and going to websites is hard.

'Sane' Descs - Have any of you seen those desc that are a mess? Half-sentence things are in bold in one spot in and in another another thing is in Italic, yet they make no sense? A requirement for one full sentence might be nice.

Messages - When a friend isn't on, and you have to leave, but you think they might get on, you should be able to leave a whisper they would get when they logged in.

Guides - A real person, thats been playing for a long time, should have the ability to volunteer to teach new players how to play. This would be nice, because it would be easier to understand than the current system(I think) and direct, rather than said in whispers.

[I thought of a lot more good ones, but my computer crashed when I was done with this post!!!! So I lost them all, and I forgot them. If I think of them, I will edit this post

I dont like this idea I mean... it wouldnt be really, fair. I mean, descs are what you want them to know about you. What if you dont want a full sentence? Just my opinion. xP

I'm sure you can do this with postmaster...

I know there is a way to do this because I remember doing full-screen before... I'ma go search the forums to check it out.

The rest of the ideas I like xD

Avatar Suggestion Thread If it's been suggested, odds are it's already been added here.

Nice idea, but would make dreamweaving a lot harder as presently set up. (For example, separate areas like rooms would have to be placed further apart to stay out of a snooper's sight and hearing. Even some expert dreamweavers can have trouble cramming everything efficiently into the map space we have presently.) Before DEP can go the full screen option, they would need to make several additions to the present Dream Editor.

Spellchecker suggestion thread. Unlikely due to the huge amount of words which would need to be added. (In English, Spanish, Japanese, etc.)

Both are good ideas, and I believe both are in the works.

QUOTE
Lower Costs - The Digo Market is expensive! Yes, I know, Furcadia needs money, I understand that on a free game. But think, some avatars for life are 100$ but are only about the size of a quarter on your screen; World of Warcraft for a year is 32$ with all included.
Unlikely to happen, I'm afraid. DEP is just struggling to stay afloat as it is. Furthermore, World of Warcraft's prices may be cheaper, but it requires everyone to pay if they want to get very far with it. Furcadia's Digo items are purely optional and are not needed to play the game.

QUOTE

Character pages are coming.

This is your only suggestion that rubs me wrong.
What business does DEP have in telling me how much sense I have to put in my description? Where would DEP draw the line? What would fall under art (even if it's bad) and what would fall under simply annoying? What if my idea of a "sane" description doesn't mesh with yours?
Yes, understandable descriptions would be nice, but regulating them (beyond keeping them acceptable for various areas) is something DEP would be far better not to do.

This is the Welcomer Beekins' job. A newcomer need only ask.

I think Justin covered everything..... If you download the newest version of Firefox, it seems to have a built in spell checker. It will underline words in red like Word does, and right clicking will give you spelling options.

Narnia

World of Warcraft is not $32 a year. Your math is a little off. At the minimum, WoW is around $150 a year (and that's if pay like 6 months at a time) and if you're like most and pay month to month it's going to run you $180 a year.

All these have been suggested before.
I'm quite sure you're wrong. Narnia is quite correct. Perhaps you're just not quite the one paying the bills... You play WoW for 3 years you could buy 3-4 lifers. Oh god I hate WoW...

Oh, that money's being sunk into Furcadia, all right. Servers cost money. Bandwidth costs money. You get the idea. Developing new stuff for Furcadia is probably close to their cheapest expenditure.

Anyway, this is a common complaint.

Fullscreen is impossible. The server only informs your client about actions that take place within a certain distance of you. Even if you had fullscreen you still wouldn't be able to see furres or actions which are more than a few tiles away.

And like Justin StinCoy said, it will provide problems for dreamweavers who may want to place stuff outside of your vision when they don't even know how far away "outside your vision" is.

Really, the solution to that problem, Rael, is for the Dream-Editor-Suggestion of 'hiding' a spot from view, based on certain conditions.

Felorin mentioned the possibility once.

You guys are all just finding reasons this is bad. You are all the argueing type, is there any of the people that find a good idea in everything out there?

No, Erosworn, we are not criticisizing. We are critiquing. There is a big difference.

A suggestion might look good on paper, but may be entirely undoable in reality. A good suggestion will survive the "bad" things said about it and be all the stronger for it. Those "bad" things will allow us see and address many of the suggestion's problems before someone tries to implement it. "Bad" suggestions will be set aside, either to die or to be the kernals for new ideas, some of which might be good ones. Suggestions, whether good or "bad", also give insight into players' minds, allowing certain concerns to be addressed. The player may not like how those concerns may be addressed, but at least they're being listened to.

Feedback is also important. An idea may be brilliant and easy-to-do, but, if nobody wants it and it's not needed, what's the point in implementing it? If nobody says anything "bad" about something they don't want or need, they might end up getting it, which could potentially lead to loss of players and what little revenue DEP gets.

I can understand why you feel so frustrated at all the apparent negativity. However, rest assured these "bad" things we say are necessary to hone potentially useful suggestions into good ones.

Taking furres control away from their own descs is pretty much on the verge of 'control freakery' .. Bad idea.
