Bird Or Lizard Avatars Options

Well, my friend and I were talking and we realized that what if someone wants to roleplay a phoenix or a dragon, but doesn't have that kind of money? And another question, 'Why are all the furcadia avatars mammals(not including digos)? I really think Furcadia could do with some anthro birds and lizards

If you click on the "roleplay" link on the main Furcadia page, you can read about the Dragonlands continuity that Furcadia is based around.

In the Dragonlands, most birds and lizards are feral animals -- birds like scarhawks are riding animals, actually, like horses to humans.

Dragons and Phoenixes are mythical so they get around this rule.

There are some nice lizard and bird avatars you can patch into your dreams as local species if you'd like though, take a look around online.

What about beetles and other bugs? Makes me wonder why people never ask for those ;3. Although I don't think I would set foot in FurN if there were Arachnids .

I second that actually. Despite the continuity (even though no one ever actually RPs by it sadly) Feathered and/or Scaled defaults would be awesome.

And bugs of some 'generic' sort would be even more AWESOME. <3

I've heard tell that Ducks might be a future possibility as a basic avatar, hailing from some distant corner of Drakoria, but I make no guarantee I remembered that right.

Ugh.. Ducks.. Honestly. Atleast DEP could ask B13 if they could use his bird av. They are better than a duck av.. Mainly because they look like regular birds.

B13 is making an -amazing- Bird avatar. I, myself, am working on a Bugge, Fish ("Pisce"), and Frog ("Phibbe"). I'm also working on a Naga. These avs will probably begin getting finished toward the newyear.

The problem is that even if I released these avs there's no guarantee Furcadia would be interested in them, but they do seem to work on requests.

If you keep to the backstorys, then you have every right to ask 'Why not?' The least you'll get is an answer. I have long wanted bugge avatars.. Maybe I should have nagged more over the years.

Some generic scaleys or avian avatars (if working with Dragonlands) would be great. I have always felt that the descrimination of species is aweful. There are so many more branches than mammals out there.

But don't worry. DEP are running out of mammal genus to create. >:} Talz will have to surrender to the idea sooner or later.

That's the bottom line! You guys are lucky! You can color up an equine or bull to make a visual representation of yourself.

In my day *leans forward in his rocking chair* We didn't have your fancy graphical whatsa m'doesits! We RP'd entirely in text and built up the rest with adjective aided imagination! If we can RP with a rock and a few sticks, then you can make do with your fancy FurcadiaC! ;P

Heres where we pull in irony to back us up! If mythical creatures have exceptions, why not bring in Nagas, or Ents, or even a Pegasus? I generally think a giant walking tree would be awsome. And a Pheonix IS a bird, mythical or not, so shouldn't it be pulling wagons and such? I'd acually love to see an anthro hercules beetle. Aren't we the people? Shouldn't we be heard? You can bet your last dollar on it!

Of all the avatars furc needs, I would freaking foam at the mouth with glee for a general reptile and a general avian.

We have a ton of mammals, and there are many a local specie available for download. However, I have yet to find what I'd consider a really GOOD avian. Kaelin'fae has an amazing reptile that is in fact a local in my dream, and well fits what I was after. Having them as defaults though would be one hell of a blessing, as I don't have but so many local slots to use trying to cover a wider span of the animal kingdom in furre format.

I disagree. If DEP should listen to 'us', I would lean towards those that have spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on digos since THEY are the ones that support the entire game for the rest of us to play (for FREE!) - I honestly believe that DEP needs more funding then it has at the moment, and we're very selfish furres to demand they add this and that all the time without some of us (I have no clue who's bought digos and who hasn't, just a general statement since I believe it was 10% or something of the playerbase actually buys digos) ever giving them a dime in our appreciation of this wonderful world they've given us.

Would it be awesome if they had lizards or birds or ninja-pirate-platyapus's? Yeah, it would, but I doubt it'll ever happen as a free avatar since DEP needs money now more then ever based on the mass amount of digo options and specials they have going on.

Erm, long rant short, buy some dragonscales whenever you want to suggest that DEP add this or that, not only would you help support Furcadia, but if what you want comes out as a digo then you'll have 'cash' saved up to buy it. ;)

I shouldn't have to buy somthing just to make a request to DEP. And We should not be forced into buying things from DEP just to have our opinions heard by DEP. Our opinions should all be heard as one regardless if we pay for a digo or not. That is the right of the Furcadia player.

Please don't put words in my mouth (and it's Auora, not Aurora. ) as I did NOT say that DEP should play 'favorites' based on who buys digos. I just think people that demand new features all the time and complain about the new things that come out should just shush since they're playing a FREE game. ;p

Furcadia is not the USA. There are no 'freedom of speech' or 'freedom of opinion' laws here. This is DEP's country, their space on the internet, and they can run it how they want. Heck, they can permaban me for having the opinion that people should support DEP more instead of complaining and moaning about suchandsucha feature not being made available, or it not being made the way they want it.

As to being heard is our 'right' as players... no, it's not our right to be heard. Where in the ToS does it say we have the right to be heard by DEP? The only rights we have are ones THEY give us, if we don't like it, then tough, we have the option of always trying to make our own Furcadia - you don't want to? Oh. Well. Then. How about helping DEP keep Furcadia online and buying SS for a month? How about buying 5 dragonscales each month? They'll add up eventually and you can buy whatever 'expensive' digo you want. And the best part? You give back to DEP. You say to them "Thank you for making Furcadia, thank you for giving me a place to make friends, to have fun, to create a little place of my own on the internet."

Sure, DEP probably loves hearing us thanking them, I could talk for ages about how grateful I am for them, but words are empty and even I know that it's pointless to just say thanks when they're in the red, trying to survive and keep on living while having the game stay up.

It sounds horrible and selfish and brown-nosing for me to say anything about giving money to DEP, I know this, but despite that I'm going to say it anyway.

Donate to DEP, buy digos, throw tons of pies at your friends and laugh, I'm sure the tiny bit of extra money will make DEP's day and make a much better "Christmas Present" then any words would.
