Now, before you say "Patch phoenixes over your default and ta-da! free birds!" let me just say something. As someone whose fursona that practically screams "I am a parakeet!" I find it rather a pity that we don't have any sort of birds. They don't have to be as flashy or nearly as fluffy as the phoenixes (After all, that's what gives them their magic!) Though for those of us who do feel a bit feathery, just a plain, regular furre-sized birdy will do. Also, I forgot to mention, some of us live off ramen noodles and can't afford phoenixes, so, you get the idea.

The excuse of "use a phoenix or a gryffe" does not work in every case. Some of them are just, flat, so far off from what the portrayed bird looks like that it's hard to get into it.

Furcadia has previously stated that they sell "flight" I.e. wings, and that therefore all birds would be a digo. This is why, incidentally, Ferians are cheaper than other digos. They lack flight. However, an artist (if I'm not mistaken, b13) has been working on that has no wings, just a set of short feathers along the underside of the forearm. A bird of this type would be exceptionally helpful, especially if it were in the Ferian/Furling price-range.

Rat, you have hit it spot on the head, this is the type of bird I'd like to see, heck, I'm pretty sure I'd save up any money I happen to have spare just to be such an avian for life. Fortunately for those with holes in their pockets, such as me and my recent acquisition of a certain thumb numbing item, I can trust that this isn't going to happen anytime soon, so I shall continue to sock away my pennies until DEP gives us a four limbed avian.

Phoenix = Shivabird.

I did a bird avatar in much the same style as the default avatars a while back - not flashy, not 'special', blended in quite nicely with the other default avatars. If I get around to touching it up, I'll post it for download, then you could at least use it as a local species in your dream or something.

I must admit that I, too, feel sorry for that bird.

I can understand putting a bird in a flightsuit, but that's just ridiculous. Poor bird. D=

I don't think the bird minds being in the dress! Birds have really strong beaks and if it didn't like it, that dress would be in shreds. Most animals that are dressed up really enjoy it and are proud of their clothes. My daughter dresses up her dog and she prances around and show's off her outfits. Animals can be vain too...and if any animal is, it's birds! ;p

Not only that, but it also gets rid of the fear of unwanted avian messes(I should start a Cravats for Parrots campaign.). But I digress, exactly what are the chances of Bird Furres that aren't Phoenixes?

We aren't adding in any non-payfor avatars anytime soon. We are very busy getting ready for 24-bit and have limited resources.
