Hi guys!
Thanks for taking the time to implement avatars people like. Every one is a process of trial and error and I'm sure it takes a lot of time to make a good decision that won't hurt your company. With that in mind, I had an idea I hope you'll find nifty. Furcadia is about fantasy. I really like masks, so I thought of this--instead of creating a human avatar, why not create an avatar where you don't know who or what is behind the mask at all? Check out these pictures to see what I'm talking about. These people are dressed from head to toe in costume and it gives an element of mystery. I'm going to try and make a few Venetian avatars for Procrastination Lounge, and then release them. Right now I'm looking at a prototype (albiet poor, but it was a quick edit!) on my screen and it seems to blend in with the anthropomorphic avatars pretty well. What do you think? |

I always appreciate a good twist. Carnevale offers one of those! I think the appearance of an avatar with that little extra added bit of mystique might even play a big benefit to the coming of Olde Town. And the existing Hawthorn and Furrubian Nights. Where it might gain further appreciation, sort of like how some of the other novelty avatars did.
While what is behind the mask may come into question as far from feral, in anthro form- it still leaves a lot to the imagination. The images ArtSpace posted would certainly be translated over well into the new color palette updates of Furcadia with her awesome patching abilities, and I believe it would be a great example of the unlimited possibilities of our pixel art world. I think it would be cool. |

Another idea for this, if DEP takes the masks into consideration, is putting the marking colors where the nose is. That way those who are feral will have a nose appear, those who are human (and don't typically have "marking colors" as a result) will not show a nose.

I don't like the idea. I have human characters and would definitely buy a human digo if offered.
The costumes don't look at all like humans if it was made to an avatar, which would defeat the purpose. |

I like it! And if pulled off just right, this avatar could double up as an android.

QUOTE Alternative To Human Avatar Suggestion This is a suggested compromise for those who don't want human avatars in Furcadia. |

they look cool, but i'm not sure how they'd fit into the canon.
in the future DEP are implementing clothes and such, so perhaps it would be a good thing to suggest for then, instead of it being a separate avatar. |
