Feel the warm breezes lifting humidity from the Nile and be refreshed by longer days and short nights! Furcadia's Egyptian celebration, Festival of the Sun, honors the Prime of Felines, known as M'Rill. Starting June 21st, our Festival of the Sun includes many spectacular features such as a barge ride along the Nile river, the Lighting of the Fires of Neith celebration, games of Senet, and an interactive marketplace.

The Summer Festival is coming! With it, come competitions and contests for all of Furcadia's players to participate! The Contest Vault will be opening throughout the upcoming weeks to allow furres to strut their stuff and show their innovation and unity under this Festival's theme, "Under One Sun".

Vault Contests Currently Open:
Dream Contest
Unity Doodle Contest
Character Back Story Contest

For more information, please check out http://www.furcadia.com/festival/ ! Best of luck to everyone!

Darn! I was looking forward to that. Either way, I'm excited! When is the Awards Night?
I'll be gone for 9 weeks for Basic and I was wondering if the ceremony was going to be posted on the forums again?

I took it as unity and togetherness but I am just a sap smile.gif. I am actually a first time entrant into the dream contest and had started gathering my group the day the theme was announced (Spring Fest Announcement Day). I am excited about it and hope my team does well. I have to enter masters due to someone on my team so I am a bit nervous. Anyhow best of luck to my competitors! biggrin.gif

I do have a minor worry about the cookie DS requirement, but it's nothing big. If every dream is required to have cookie DS factoring into the dream in some significant way, and most furries have only 3 cookies per day, wouldn't that mean most people would trade in their cookies for funbucks/whathaveyou in the first contest dream they enter into.. and then be shut out from the rest of the submissions until the next day?

You can give cookies in your dream or be cookie neutral. Group Packages get 48 cookies a day which can build up really high over 8 days. You don't actually have to collect cookies at all, but I suggest a balance of giving and taking cookies...with giving a few more than you take. It requires planning and using cookies on multiple tasks. For instance, you might change a cookie to participate in a game but the furres has a good chance of winning mutiple cookies for playing. Or you can charge tickets(cookies) to go on rides in a carnival but let them win tickets at booths of skill.

So will our dream entries start out with 48 cookies?

They should and they should get those 48 cookies each day abd the cookie bank would be cleared once a day. I'm not toally sure this will work right since there is no programming in place for it at this time and it might be that it needs to be added manually. I will talk with Felorin about this to see how we can set it up.

Be sure to remember that cookies do not go automatically into the cookie bank but you must make DS to create that cookie bank and have a way for the DS to take cookies form your character and put them there.

A great simple DS bit that lets you specify how many cookies to give:

CODE
(0:32) When a furre says something with {!feed} in it,
(5:314) set variable %numCookies to the number the triggering furre just said.
  (5:700) request %numCookies cookies for the cookie bank from the triggering furre, with request number 1 and message {Do you want to give the dream %numCookies cookies?}

Kinda like hop DS!

According to the Cookie Economy page, cookie banks would clear once every 8 days for group packages. Is clearing once a day part of the contest?
