Aquatic races... Hmm..., Fish n such, you decide. Options

Well, I finally strained myself to register on the board, and I'' make this post an important one.

My main character is a Swamp Zora, and he is often mistaken for a canine. This could be fixed if people would read descriptions, but nobody does that anymore, do they? Anyways, I think it would be nice to have an option for this, I think it would be in Furcadia's best interest if it was payed for. I mean, alittle extra money for the cause, sounds good to me. And I'm getting a good deal too.

Any suggestions? Anyone willing to take up the negative position in this. I would be glad to hear your comments.

Well usually people don't read long descs.  I sure don't.  o_o  It's not their fault they assume you're a canine, because that's the species you picked...right?

Yes, it is. It may be acceptable, but it's certainly their fault.

Actually, if they made an aquatic avatar, the closest they'd have for the option is an amphibian, like a Salamander or something, otherwise, the aquatic critter would die when among other furres.

Hmm. I like the idea of a salamander as a pay avatar.

The magical type, of course.

But what powers would it have? I seem to remember they had a stoning attack, but that would be no good for furc.

As I recall, Salamanders are creatures that emit all-consuming fire from their bodies...? Donno, sounds to me a bit much like the dragon and phoenix already... o.o

You know, somehow, I really like that idea.

A big, dripping, sticky, goopy pink tongue shooting out, *glomping*, then whipping back in again! Yeah!

Hrm. Then you could DS it so that whatever object (or furre!) you *GLOMPED* would come flying towards you.

Sadly, we don't yet have the DS that would allow me to have it *glomp* the clothes off unsuspecting furres...

Shame.    

Still, I can see it now...

Another Salamander ability could be walking on the non-walkable water, as well as tounge-slicking. Also, Salamanders could climb trees. Knowing DEP, they'd make Salamanders breath hearts.... Or they can have the Tornado ability that people wanted Gryphons to have.

Well my char DOES have lungs, it's just that they're not as effective as a mammal's are. So his endurance is pathetically weak.

Zoras are also, if I'm not mistaken, property of Nintendo, so modelling a Furcadia race after them would likely not be very feasable.

I'd like to make a comment on the furre who suggested walking on water. That is a major problem that I notice because I make dreams using the items/floors Furcadia provide. To me, the entire point of unwalkable water is to block furres from going to a certain area, or putting water at the edges of maps to keep furres away. For example, I made the mistake of making an awesome dream but used the cloud tiles for my floating castle. Huh. My friend who happens to be an eagle found out he could walk on there. Problem? Yes, which strictly limits the use of the cloud tile. Now, i've gotten used to it. What about the water tile? Some tiles were made unwalkable for a reason. Who wants furres wandering around the edge of a map where no furre was meant to go?
And that's all there is to my ramble.

dude/dudet [not sure -.-] if you want this. make a patch and upload a dream with it in it. dont bug us if your to dumb to name your char a fish and make it a dog.

I don't find it dumb of anyone to make their character something other then the very limited possibilities on furc. As for a fish avatar...my friend Stefanie has a fish anthro in her comic (he's a red bellied pirahna(sp?)) But anyhow, he's drawn with a human-esque bodies (like the avatars of furc) with finned ears, and a lenthy fish tail. Really thats all you'd need for it, a fish-like tail onto the avatar.

i can just imagine a fish... (i mean an avatar that looks like a fish)... a little fish floping along the ground to move...if you stay out of water for more than 10 minutes you automaticly get sent to the vinca because you died..... and when your in water you can swim.that would be so wierd.... now im hungry for some fish.....

EDIT: in talz's new dream if you say anything with "talz" in it, it changes you to a fish... NOTE: be on the blue tile

i do have one though. i am not where in the aquatick catigory it fits it would be able to be both aquatick as well as a land animol. i am wanting to see a dolphin animorph on furcadia it would have the best of both worlds watter as well as land. hmm some one could even make a atlantis or somthing like that dream where only dolphins can go to.
