Hello!
I was reading the list of suggestions and sadly there just aren't enough suggestions/a big enough push for aquatics. And when I say Aquatics, I mean Dolphin, Whale, Shark, Manta Ray, and I had another suggestion but I don't remember it right now. ._. Soooo, I have some ideas: Avatars: Understanding that not everyone has or uses marine characters, I can get that maybe making a free, gendered avatar for everyone's use can be unappealing, so while I'd loooove to see the animals listed above in anthro form so I can use at will, I guess I won't spend much time/words suggesting that. I do, however, suggest maybe a single aquatic avatat that can represent all aquatic species, just like "Ursine" can represent all bears, except on a bigger scale since the ocean's a huge place. I suggest a fish avatar or, since the majority are mammals, a dolphin one! Digos: Now here's the real suggestion! ![]() Looking over the Dragon, Kirin, Unicorn, etc Digos, I realize that while they're all awesome, I wouldn't really wanna spend a hundred bucks on them because they aren't ME. They'd be awesome to win in a raffle, or buying a Spring sale package and getting one for a few weeks for a little bit of GD, but none of my characters resemble them that I actually RP. Selling an aquatic Digo, though? x3333 - A Digo that looks like a Manta Ray sitting vertical with a humanoid, almost mermaid look to the main body. It has markings such as stripes in a tribal pattern or aquatic symbols that can be remapped. I guess I'm talking about something like Quetzacoatl from Final Fantasy 8 but more Mata ray looking and definitely not so yellow. Walking would be the fins/tail moving up an down. Sitting would be similar to the Hyoomans, with the tail curled neatly against the body and fins splayed to the side. Lying down could be on the side, curled up, with fin placed over the body. You could call it a Mariray, Losafin, or even Kraken or something... Ferian - Okay, now for the reaaaaaaaaal suggestions! ![]() Dolphin - Shape could be based on Bottlenose, but to include Orca. Can have a main body color, a belly color, and different markings to represent Spotted Dolphin, Common Dolphin, etc. If there aren't enough markings, then spotted dolphin could always have alternate sets of spots or the fins/dorsalfin/flukes could be a separate color, or pretty, unusual markings can be placed along the melon and body for a more fantastical look. Walking would be moving the tail up an down, sitting would be resting on the belly, and lying down1 could be resting on the side as if it's going to spring up at any moment, and lying down2 could be a more playful S shape as if its playing in the sand. I, personally, do not have a problem with them floating. The underwater area of the Wild looks great (although I might also suggest that that be expanded, should these ever be made...Coral reef plus a wide open sandy area or something...) Whale - I'm mostly thinking orca here, although that's technically a dolphin... IF this ferian were gendered, Males would have really tall dorsal fins, females would have shorter ones. Orcas I'd suggest for a bigger Ferian because I don't know if people have whales as charries. They're so big and so mysterious, I don't even see books written with them as chars very often... Therefore, Orca would probably be a better suggestion than just "whale." There could be a humpback whale one which can be recolored to be a blue whale, grey whale, etc. Either way, Swimming - tail up and down Sitting - belly Lying down1 - side Lying Down 2- S shape Shark - A big, rounded shark whose nose is sorta blunt and not particularly pointy, flat, etc. This way people can choose different species colors/markings without actually needing specific shapes to tell what shark it is. 'Cept the Hammer head. >_> That one's obvious. Plus a few others. Markings - Great White, Tiger Shark, Leopard shark, some stripes, etc. Walking - Tail from side to side Sitting - resting on belly, maybe make the mouth move a little to indicate breathing water over the gills. Lying down1 - flopped over like its dead. Ling down 2 - slightly curled on belly, as if it's on the lookout while it rests. Manta Ray - This one's probably the widest and a really random suggestion. :/ Markings = spots, rosettes, a design, and symbols on each fin. Plus a belly, back, and eye coloring. The face is too wide for a portrait, so maybe a 3/4 view of the manta diving so the back and a little bit of the belly are clearly seen. Kinda like this one. Walking - fins tips move up and down Sitting - lying on belly with fins raised slightly, mouth moving a little. LD1 - Lying on belly with fins completely limp. LD2 - upside down? o_O Looks dead... omg I thought of another - Crab - claws, shell, eyes, back, legs all remappable with some patterns too. Portrait would be a pic of the crab in defensive position, main focus on face. Walking - scuttles forward when walking NE or SW, but scuttles sideways walking NW or SE. Or something. Sitting - sits low to the ground with claws up in the air. LD1 - legs and claws are close to the body, close to the ground, looks dormant. Or cooked. LD2 - a hole in the ground with some dirt piled around, where you just buried yourself! ....or a hermit crab....the shell, eyes, claws, and main exoskeleton would all be remappable. Portrait would be a 3/4 view of the whole body with enough of the shell showing to know what you're customizing. Walking - scuttles forward, body half out of the shell. Sitting - body closer to the shell with limbs fitted close together, shell is touching the ground. LD1 - all you see is the shell resting there. LD2 - the tip of the shell sticking out of the ground with a little pile of sand around it. ![]() Okay, so that's all my suggestions for now. x3 My little say. I think these would be awesome and useful (for me, anyway) and I'd definitely work hard to get them all! xD Thanks for reading! ![]() |
