Suggestions about Furre Formats., A few suggestions about the Avatars. Options

Okay, well, heres my suggestion. I think that Furcadia should have different avatars (The moving character) for male and female furres. This would help Dreamweavers a lot, so they can make alterations to the entering furres with a lot more accuracy. (As it is, If you decide to make a species look male, all look male, instead of the male furres being male, and female being female.)
Another suggestion of mine would be to allow animated character portraits.
And what about a Reptile type furre? Like a Lizard type. (They may not have hair, but they can still be called Furres.) Also, Why must Furcadia be limited to moving one direction at a time? Why not make it a little like Grand Theft Auto, and you can rotate your furcadian character and walk in the direction you wish, although, I admit, that is a little hard to draw, and it may make things just a liiiittle harder for Dreamweavers, so, this idea may not be the best, but its fun to consider, right? Okay.
Next idea. I think that a furre should be able to hold an item so that all can see. You know, If you use it, people can see you holding it in a specific way. Or, using an item can alter the way your character looks to all around you. Like using a hat could put it on your head, or using a mike could change you into a backstreet boy, I don't know, its up the the dream weaver. o.o

The gender idea has been suggested many times before.  The big arguement against it is that it would double the amount of space the images take up.  So the download would be significantly larger as well, which they're trying to keep to a minimum.  Currently, those images take up 2.44 megs.  If there were male and female avatars, you're looking at 5 megs just for player avatars.

I'm sure you mean a FREE avatar of a reptile type, since a dragon is a reptile.  Furcadia is a furry game.  The only reptiles in Furcadia's IC story is the Wyrmmes, which are in another part of the "world" and are enemies to furres, hence not allowed in furre areas of the world.  But hey, that's already contradicted by puttin' non-furry avatars in the game (dragons, phoenixes, gryffes, and eagles) so why not a FREE reptile?!   Let's do it!

Gendered avatars, moving in any direction, seeing what a furre is holding, and other such suggestions are features probably more practical for the Beta release, since it will be moving to 3D.

and.. Oh! Another idea, which, yes, I admit, would probably increase dream size by a lot would be the option to choose between three portraits per gender. You know.. A male feline would have a choice of three portraits, a female would have three, same for unspecified, and so on for the rest of the species! (You could have an art contest, and give away Tri-wings for the ones selected!) I know it'd increase the size of a dream a lot, but again, you could make it optional. `-` I think its a good idea, cause some of the ports now don't fit a fursons idea of their character.
Another idea is.. About the portraits and male-female avatar gender.. You could have a vote with the people of furcadia (Democracy Rules!) Where they could decide between.. Making the male-female avatars optional, forced, or leave it as is, and inform them that having male-female avatars could make it so you could tell the difference between male and female, but that it would increase dream size substantially, and that those with lower bandwidth would have to wait a long time. ..Shoot, I forgot unspecified.. Those could be added as well, or voted upon..

7.5 megabytes.. Ouch.. Like I said, you could ask the people of furcadia to vote. Send them to a webpage where they can read the information before they vote.. I guess. o.o Male-female-unspecified Avatars, and 3 ports per gender.. It would make Furcadia a lil more versatile.

This has been brought up so many times that I always feel the urge to KILL things whenever I see it suggested again.

No, Furcadia won't be getting male and female avatars.
No, Furcadia will not be adding <blank> species.
No, Furcadia will not be adding more animation or more frames for sprites.

It may be possible in the beta but it is not feasible now with our current graphics system. Furcadia is already pushing the limit for download size when it comes to users on dial up. The longer someone has to wait to get Furcadia the more likely they are to lose interest.

I don't think DEP has the time to answer "No" to every single thread asking about gendered avatars or new races. You can find that at Talzhemir's FAQ, if you don't want to take someone else's word for it.

Humans are warm-blooded but they can be pretty cold-hearted.  I think dragons can produce fire and still be cold-blooded...  Everyone does get indigestion on occasion, ya'know.

Good.. :scared there for a while.: Anyways! Ooh! What about sea creature types? Like Dolphins or Orcas! (Orcas might be best, as they can easily be dolphins. You just have to make dolphins one shade. Orcas would be two. o.o)

Then again, I've seen a few other games that claimed to be "forever free" become p2p after newer and better games came out and servers became hard to keep up. (Didn't that happen with Dransik?). Hopefully, Furcadia will be true to it's word.

Second, the next species will be squirrels or skunks or something. Bears, due to popular demand, will probably be coming later on. Human avatars will probably never come out. This is -Fur-cadia, which makes it different from most other games. Sea animals will probably not come out either, and even if they do, it probably wouldn't be until long after you realize they won't add them. (Though it would be nice to see a hidden underwater world.... Or fur-maids. o.o But I think the smell of wet fur crashes the server.)

The point is, Furcadia will not be adding a whole lot more species until at least Beta, due to increasing the download size. And that could happen anytime. Could be tomorrow, could be in 6 years.

Unn.. let another said this is /FUR/cadia... anthromorphics. Humans are not. Everytime I see one on furc.. makes me wanna grab their user and slap them silly. Its good that I have more control than that. If I rp.. i just refuse to RP with anyone that decides they have a human char... I mean.. wtf? There is no human.. just feline, canine, equine, rodent, musties, lapine(ugh), the dragons, pheos, and griffys. Non of them even vaguely resemble a human... But.... alas... thats even a loosing battle... so.. nuff said...

An idea I've seen around is to make it so that you can change a player's "species" temporally in the DS, and add some extra "blank" species to the system, that are can be only activated using dragonspeak.  That way you have a couple diffrent things you end up doing:
A: don't increase the size of the inital download
B: Allow dream owners to to make their "bartenders, etc" special, by giving them special avatars, or it can just be used just to give them special badges.
C: Allow player then what to be (insert species/feral) a way they can do that without forcing all of one of the "static" species to change to it.
D: allow for male/female avatars.

I'm sure there's more ideas that could be thought up, but there's a few.

Okay, to make myself clearer.. Bears are a funny idea, but I guess they're okay.. Humans are furries too because they like furres, and thats what makes a furry. (At least on the hundreds of furry sites I've been too.) Besides, Furcadia is a role playing world, and saying you HAVE to have fur is like.. Specist. o.o (However you spell it.. Racist?) Dolphins are much cooler in my opinion than bears..  Another idea would be to use the clickable smilies (With more detail) we have on the left here in place of the weird looking ones on furcadia... (No offense to anybody, but they don't always work to express emotions, and the eyes kinda ruin it..) And those ideas the last person had are kinda cool.. Blank species. o.o About ten of em! They don't take up space unless the owner wants em to! It'd be a little hard to make, but who cares, if thats what the dream maker wants to do.. I've had an idea like a species changer in a DS for a while.. You could make anything into it, but I think a transporter like object would be best. o.o You step into it, and bump something, and you change your species. (Blank ones won't work, unless there is something in the blank.) You keep bumping until you get the one you like.. And it could be modified to change your gender too, (With the use of the blanks, and the transporter would only change you to a certain species, in this case, changing gender.) And everybody could see the change.. Humans and Dolphins and Reptiles, Oh my! They should be added, even if it would make dreams bigger.. Heck, let the people of furcadia vote! If they turn it down, then you can wait til the beta, where it won't take up much more space. =)
