Ideas For The Digo Market... Options

I came up with the idea of an avatar.... where like the Portrait Space or Portrait Art, maybe even like the other avatar where you get one for a year, or you buy one for a life time, you get to create your own avatar... so rather then having an avatar you made in a dream and only using it there... what about using it anywhere in Furcadia??
Does anyone agree that it'd be an awesome idea??? I for one would buy something like that...

I've wanted something like this too. Yes, it has been discussed. They say they might consider it though once the bandwidth or something of the game is improved, otherwise it would cause lag. You know how when you click a person with a port, sometimes it will say "loading portrait" for a few seconds? Each port is added to your cache (temporarily downloaded to your computer) so that if you click that person again, the port will show up instantly. Every new avatar you see would have to be cached in order for this to work, and it wouldn't be restricted to clicking. That would take up a lot of memory and cause a lot of lag.
Not to mention the possibility of people just copying the files of other digos, giving them that digo for possibly less money than if they bought that digo. That might not be an issue if it would have to go through an approval system first. (I would think that would be necessary so you don't have R-rated avatars walking around a G-rated dream)

The officially released avatars all follow specific design principles, because they are part of the "look and feel" of Furcadia. Artists working on official avatars often spend quite a bit of time on tweaking and changing their avatars, and there are reviews and revisions. While we may at some point have a very limited, very exclusive opportunity for getting a custom avatar, there are no plans to make this a product that's sold on Digo Market. Sorry!

The idea of custom avatars or "avatar spaces" has been suggested many times. In the past, this suggestion has been rejected on the grounds that it would create massive lag and that it would give players too much control over the appearance of main maps.
